- If you have trouble with charging, visit My SportDOG® 425X, 425XS or 425XCamo Won’t Charge.
Confirm the unit is being fully charged.
- Do not remove the collar or remote from the charger until it is flashing green, indicating a full charge.
If the units are being charged correctly, review these tips on getting the most from your battery:
- Power off the collar when not in use. The collar uses battery power even when not actively delivering a static stimulation, tone or vibration.
- To turn the collar off, press and release the power button. The collar will glow red and beep for 2 seconds to confirm it is powering off.
- Only charge the unit that needs charging. The remote and collar both have their own low battery indicator.
- The collar blinks red every 2 seconds.
- The remote will glow red when any button is pressed.
- Charge once every 3 to 4 months when storing for long periods of time. Additionally, remember to charge before storing for long periods of time.
You can expect hundreds of recharge cycles from the batteries in your SportDOG® remote and collar. However, all rechargeable batteries lose capacity over time and need to be replaced. If you notice that you are getting significantly less life between charges than you did originally, purchase new batteries from the links below.
